Click here for more detailsThis pulp from tamarind fruit was collected for its use as a dye and was donated to Kew together with several other plant dyes from the India Office. The pulp is labelled with the common name hunisehannu. The India Office was the British administration of the pre-1947 government of India. The pulp was collected in Mysore when it was its own state in west India, this area is now the state of Karnataka.
