Story details

My name is Purvi Parikh and I am a classical Indian dancer. One dance that I perform is based on the Hindu Goddess Laxmi and the lotus flower. Lotus flowers grow in ponds and are pure. The Lotus flower is a holy flower for Hindu people because the Goddess of Wealth, Laxmi, sits upon the lotus flower. I am a Hindu and we worship Laxmi all of the time, especially in Divali (Festival of Light) celebrations. We also use the flower during Puja (Hindu prayer).
