This bark was displayed at the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1900 as part of a large collection of forest products in the India Section. The Paris Exhibition was another world fair and held to celebrate the achievements of the past century and to encourage development into the next. A record 50 million people attended the exhibition. At the time this bark was collected, the city of Bahraich was in the historic region of Oudh, now part of Uttar Pradesh.
