Click here for more detailsThese women are picking shoots from tea bushes and collecting them in bags on their backs. They hold the bags in place by hanging the handles over the cushioning on their heads. They prune and pluck the bushes to keep them at the correct density and to encourage the formation of new leaf-bearing shoots which are produced every 7-21 days. The shoots will then be processed and sold as black tea.
