Recipes - Mango and cardamom lassisuitable for vegetarians

Lassi is drunk with meals in South Asia, particularly at breakfast or with snacks. Both salty and sweet types are popular. This sweet variation is a little like a smoothie. Serves 4.

Ingredients

300 ml natural yoghurt
500 ml fresh, cold water
2 tablespoons sugar
Flesh of 2 mangoes, skin and seeds removed
2 teaspoons whole cardamom seeds
2 teaspoons cardamom seeds, crushed for garnish

Instructions

Put all ingredients except crushed cardamom seeds into a blender and puree. Pour into glasses and top with a sprinkling of cardamom seeds.
