Explore - Oriental Museum, Durham
The Oriental Museum is entirely devoted to the art and archaeology of Asia. It is the only museum of its kind in the North East. The collection covers the Near East, South-East Asia, Tibet, China, Japan, Ancient Egypt, the Islamic World and India. The Indian collections contain artefacts that relate to the major religions that developed on the sub-continent: Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Jainism.
